Why an Amazon product shows as sold out (and how to know when it's back)

Content updated: October 2026

On Amazon, a product can be marked "Currently unavailable" for very different reasons: a seller running out of stock, a discontinued model coming back in a new batch, a size or color temporarily sold out, or simply high demand for a new release. The problem is Amazon never tells you when it comes back — you have to check yourself, and by the time you do, it has often sold out again.
With an Amazon stock alert, you paste the link of the sold-out product you're interested in and we check it for you several times a day. As soon as we detect it's available again, we notify you right away by email, Telegram, or push — so you get there before most people even notice it's back.
The stock alert works together with the price alert, not separately: if the product is back and the price has also dropped since the last time we saw it, you see it all in the same notification. No need to create two separate alerts for the same product.
Some sold-out Amazon products come back within hours (a normal warehouse restock); others, especially heavily demanded releases or discontinued models, can take weeks — or never come back at all if the seller decides not to restock. Leaving the alert active costs nothing and never expires — it keeps watching until you decide to delete it, so there's no harm in creating it even if you don't know whether it'll come back. If you also want to know whether the price you'll see when it returns is a real deal, check out our guide on Amazon price history.

Frequently asked questions about Amazon stock alerts

How do I know if an Amazon product is really sold out?

Amazon marks it "Currently unavailable" and shows no add-to-cart or buy-now button. If you see that, you can still create the stock alert.

How long does Amazon take to restock?

It depends entirely on the product — it can be hours or several weeks, and sometimes it never comes back. There's no fixed timeline, which is why it's worth keeping the alert active instead of checking by hand.

Do you also notify me if the price drops?

Yes, the same alert watches availability and price at the same time.

Is it free to create a stock alert on Amazon?

Yes, AlertasPrecios is completely free. You just need an account with your email.
